Country Meadows Events

Thursday, September 2, 11:30am Molly Ward Gardens and Valley Nursery

We have a “growing” theme going today! First, lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, the friendly and charming Molly Ward Gardens out on Big Valley Road—the grounds are lush with flowers, shrubs, and trees and accented with wonderful whimsy! And the food—they grow much of it there and use fresh local ingredients—is always imaginative and divinely delicious! What better way to finish off this inspirational experience than visiting the nursery to see it there is anything we can’t resist for our containers or window boxes!

Thursday, September 9, 1:30pm Real Cowpokes and Their Horses

Cindy, our assistant marketing director, is really a cowgirl who just blesses us during the week with her other skills. She and her husband Jimmy will be bringing their beautiful American Quarter Horses, Boon and Harley, to the campus for meet and greet and maybe she’ll throw her lariat for us.

Tuesday, September 21, 10:00am Rothschild House Tour

Port Townsend is one of our area’s most notable early settlements—we’re not sure if there were cowboys here in the 1800’s, but we know there were some indomitable pioneers, and we are going to tour the home of one of them. The Jefferson County Historical Society is displaying all the black dresses from their textile collection, from 19th century evening gowns to a 1920’s satin flapper chemise, in the house built in 1868 and only lived in by Rothschild family members. Chef Sarah will pack us one of her famous box lunches and we will picnic at Chetzemoka Park after our tour.

Thursday, September 30, 4:30 to 6:30pm Wild Wild West Dinner

The saloon will be open, Pete and Karen will be singin’, and the fun will be ridin’ high tonight—but watch yerself, because one too many whiskeys or getting caught stealin’ cookies could land you in the hoosegow! Best be wearin’ yer best western duds tonight!
