We advocate for a shift from institutional models of care to resident-directed values and practices that put the person first. Well-being refers not only to a person’s health but also to their strengths, dreams, and goals––around which we build our care plans.
In the traditional health care model, care plans establish one’s identity in terms of what assistance is needed and the deficits they live with––limiting care in terms of diagnosis or disease. Our Care Plans use well-being as our frame of reference. The goals are focused on strengths, preferences, and growth opportunities. By concentrating on these core ideas, we partner with each resident to provide the assistance needed to achieve greater overall well-being.
The Laurel Cove Dining
Dining at Laurel Cove is a hallmark of our commitment to champion high-quality lives for all residents. Our residents enjoy three daily, delicious, well-balanced meals, featuring a variety of menu choices and snacks. The menu options support the unique nutritional needs and preferences of our residents. Our table service and dining team encourage social interaction between residents, helping them to nurture friendships.
We are proud to offer:
- Diabetic friendly, no added salt (NAS), low gluten, lactose intolerance
- A selection of classic favorites, regional dishes, resident-suggested selections, and healthy flavors from around the world
- Specialized dietary plans for those with diabetes or other conditions
- Accommodation of residents’ religious and cultural preferences when possible
- Finger food diets, if needed
- Seasonal and holiday events with special menu choices
- Daily snacks, private dining with family and friends, and catering options
